PROJECT INFORMATION
Northwest Getaway Waterfront Condo
This waterfront condo overlooking the South Puget Sound began as a blank slate for a client relocating from Houston, Texas to Olympia, WA. Drawn to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the nearby yacht club, she knew the location was right—but the interior needed a complete rethinking. As an interior designer in Olympia we worked closely with her to transform the space into a refined, modern retreat that fully embraced its setting.
This project was a full interior renovation for a beautiful home on the waterfront in Olympia Washington. The home was taken down to the wood frame studs. Reinsulating, installing new sheetrock, and making select framing adjustments allowed us to rework the layout in meaningful ways. Improving sightlines, creating a dedicated laundry room, and refining circulation throughout the condo helped the space feel more open, functional, and intentional—while keeping the focus on the water views beyond.
PROJECT CONCEPT
Material selections were key in giving the condo warmth and sophistication. Wide-plank American walnut flooring grounds the home, while a dramatic Michael Angelo quartzite slab island becomes a focal point in the kitchen. Custom painted cabinetry, a Paloma tile backsplash, and Hubbardton Forge Mobius pendant lights over the island bring subtle contrast and detail without distracting from the surrounding views.
- Custom fireplace surround, mantle, and built-ins to anchor the living space and add architectural presence.
- Wet room bathroom featuring a walk-in shower for a streamlined, spa-like experience.
- Luxurious modern finishes chosen to elevate the space while remaining timeless and livable.
What began as an outdated condo became a thoughtfully updated home designed for this next chapter. With improved flow, carefully chosen finishes, and spaces that feel both elevated and comfortable, the condo now reflects the calm and beauty of life on the South Puget Sound. Projects like this are a reminder of why we love designing homes in Olympia and throughout Thurston County—helping clients settle into spaces that truly feel like home.
